The Challenge

Organizations and associations often struggle to maintain active engagement with members and attendees. Large-scale events face critical hurdles in real-time logistics, limited lead generation for sponsors, and a lack of efficient networking tools for attendees.

Problem
Attendees and exhibitors face a disconnected event experience, making it difficult to network, capture leads, or manage real-time session feedback.
Opportunity
Redesign the mobile experience to centralize event interactions, providing high-value tools for both attendees (networking) and exhibitors (lead scanning).

02 — Design

Iterative Design Process

The redesign evolved through multiple prototype versions, focusing on three core solution pillars to address the needs of both attendees and exhibitors simultaneously.

03 — Refinement

Refinement

Through iterative prototyping from V1 to V2, I focused on refining the "Scan" functionality and information architecture. By moving from a floating action button to a more prominent, labeled "Scan QR Code" CTA, I improved discoverability for the app's most critical high-utility feature.

04 — Solution

The Solution

The final high-fidelity design delivers a professional interface that optimizes event ROI for all stakeholders. Three primary outcomes were achieved:

  • Improved Networking Experience: allows attendees to exchange business cards in seconds with QR scanning, removing friction from in-person connections.
  • Operational Efficiency: with native app features like session check-ins and lead scanning, event managers save significant time on logistics.
  • Enhanced Lead Scanning: A streamlined QR scanning interface that allows exhibitors to capture attendee data instantly and manage leads in a dedicated self-service portal.

05 — Impact

Impact & Outcome

The Engagefully platform now serves over 300 clients and has become a primary revenue source for the organization. My contributions as a UX Technical & Research Assistant were foundational to the app's core feature set — the QR scanning, social content, and business card exchange features I designed remain central to the product.
